New Delhi, May 10 – Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal on Saturday inaugurated the Bharat Bodh Kendra, a new cultural knowledge centre at the India Habitat Centre (IHC) in the national capital.

According to an official release by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Bharat Bodh Kendra has been established as a dedicated section within the Habitat Library and Resource Centre at IHC. The initiative is aimed at enhancing public understanding and appreciation of India's profound cultural and civilisational legacy.

A Curated Space for Cultural Exploration

The newly launched Bharat Bodh Kendra will host a thoughtfully curated collection of books and resources focusing on Indian art, music, spirituality, history, philosophy, and related domains. Designed as a quiet, reflective space, the centre will be accessible to all IHC members and serve as a hub for exploring India’s timeless traditions and the evolution of its cultural discourse.

Promoting Sustainability and Cultural Consciousness

During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Manohar Lal lauded the India Habitat Centre for its diverse activities, particularly highlighting its initiatives in sustainable living. He acknowledged IHC’s significant contribution toward promoting eco-conscious practices and urged the institution to support other organisations in adopting similar environmentally responsible models.

“He encouraged the IHC to take up more such initiatives and suggested that it adopt institutions to help them implement similar environmentally conscious practices,” the ministry’s statement noted.

The Bharat Bodh Kendra is expected to become a vital space for researchers, enthusiasts, and citizens to engage deeply with India’s cultural narratives and knowledge systems.
