Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Ram Mohan Naidu visited areas in Srikakulam town affected by diarrhea today and assured residents that the government would provide full support to affected families.

Accompanied by local MLA Gondu Shankar and District Collector Swapna L Dinakar Pundkar, the Union Minister inspected the worst-hit areas, interacted with residents, and reviewed the situation on the ground.

The Union Minister directed the Collector to intensify preventive measures across all 50 divisions under the Srikakulam Municipal Corporation limits and emphasized the need for comprehensive house-to-house surveys to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.

Mr. Naidu said the district administration had taken timely steps to contain the spread of the disease.

Reassuring the public, the minister said there was no need for panic as the situation was gradually coming under control. He added that around 40 more patients were likely to be discharged by this evening.

According to officials, 82 patients are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the town, while 50 medical teams are conducting door-to-door surveys and providing necessary medical assistance. Residents expressed satisfaction with the measures taken by the authorities in the affected areas.
