
Lucknow, March 10 The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved a proposal on Tuesday for the transfer of land for the construction of a sports complex in the Ayodhya district, according to a statement by the state government.
The complex will be developed under the Chief Minister's "Vaishwik Nagarodaya Yojana" (Global Uplift Scheme), the statement said.
The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
A total area of approximately 2,500 square metres from land owned by the "Nazul" at Chak No. 4, Mohalla Vashishtha Kund, Pargana Haveli Awadh, Tehsil Sadar in Ayodhya, will be transferred to the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, the statement added.
The Ayodhya District Magistrate had sent the proposal to the government following a request from the Municipal Commissioner.
According to the Cabinet, this land will be allocated to the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation free of charge, subject to certain conditions and restrictions.
The government aims to construct a modern sports complex on this land to promote sports activities and provide improved infrastructure for the youth.
The statement also clarified that the land transfer is being made as an exception and will not be treated as a precedent in the future.
