
Muzaffarnagar (UP), March 23 At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two groups from the same community over a minor dispute in a village in the Ratanpuri area here on Monday, police said.
The police have registered a case against multiple individuals and arrested 16 people in connection with the incident, the officer said.
After receiving information about the incident, the police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Bansal said.
The trouble began after an argument between two people over a vehicle allegedly being touched, which soon escalated into a violent clash, he said.
Both sides allegedly used stones and sticks during the incident, resulting in injuries to several people, he added.
Security has been tightened in the village, and additional police personnel have been deployed as a precautionary measure, officials added.
