
March 01, New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep concern today over the explosion at a factory in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
In extending his condolences to the families of those who died, the Prime Minister prayed for the quick recovery of the injured and affirmed that the local administration is providing assistance to those affected.
The Prime Minister posted on X and wrote: "The explosion at a factory in Nagpur, Maharashtra, is deeply distressing. My condolences to the families of the deceased. I pray for the quick recovery of the injured. The local administration is assisting those affected. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF will be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured will receive Rs. 50,000."
At least 17 people were killed, and 18 others sustained critical injuries following an explosion at SBL Energy Limited in Nagpur district, Maharashtra, according to the Nagpur Police on Sunday.
