April 07, New Delhi: Iran has rejected a 15-point peace plan proposed by the U.S., instead calling for a permanent end to the conflict on Monday.
Iran stated that it desired a lasting end to the war with the U.S. and Israel, and pushed back against pressure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Responding to a U.S. proposal through mediator Pakistan, Tehran rejected a ceasefire and said a permanent end to the war was necessary.
The Iranian response consisted of 10 clauses, including an end to conflicts in the region, a protocol for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, lifting of sanctions, and reconstruction, the agency added. Spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Ebrahim Zulfaqari, said Iran has dismissed U.S. President Trump's threats as "baseless" and said they would not deter ongoing military operations.
Also on Monday, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that Iran will present its position based on its national interests, security, and the legitimate demands of the Iranian people.
