US Report Raises Concerns About Pakistan's Nuclear Arsenal.webp

New Delhi, March 19 India on Thursday highlighted Islamabad's history of "secret" nuclear proliferation following a US report that raised new concerns about Islamabad's nuclear arsenal and missile programs.

New Delhi's comments came after the US intelligence report identified Pakistan as one of the few nations developing advanced missile systems capable of carrying both nuclear and conventional payloads.

"Regarding Pakistan, they have a history of secret nuclear proliferation," said External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal during his weekly media briefing.

He was responding to a question on the issue.

"Such statements once again make it clear to the world what kind of danger they pose and the dangers their secret nuclear operations pose," Jaiswal said, referring to the concerns raised in the report about Pakistan's nuclear and missile programs.

The report specifically mentioned Pakistan's missile delivery system.

"The US's secure nuclear deterrent capability continues to ensure our safety here at home," it said.

"However, countries like China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, and Pakistan have been researching and developing a range of novel, advanced, or traditional missile delivery systems with nuclear and conventional payloads that can strike the Homeland," it said.
