US Submarine Attack Leads to Rescue of 208 Crew in Sri Lankan Waters.webp

March 06, New Delhi: The Sri Lankan Navy had earlier disembarked 208 crew members from a second Iranian vessel off the island's coast.

This development follows a U.S. submarine attack on a first Iranian warship in the same region, which resulted in 87 deaths and several others missing.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated during a press briefing that the ship was near the port of Colombo, within the country's exclusive economic zone but outside its maritime boundary.

The first ship, IRIS Dena, was sunk on March 4, approximately 19 nautical miles off Galle.
