Jhansi (UP), March 9 A 46-year-old Naib Subedar died in a head-on collision between an Army vehicle and a pick-up poultry truck in the Babina area of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, police said.
Babina SHO Vinay Kumar Sahu said the accident occurred around 6 am.
Pradeep Singh Rana, a driver of a military vehicle from the 219 MED Division, filed a report at the Babina police station, alleging that while he was driving his military vehicle towards the division, a pick-up vehicle from the opposite side collided head-on with their vehicle.
Naib Subedar Harkesh Yadav, who was from Ghazipur, sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was immediately taken to the Army Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Sahu said that the body has been sent for post-mortem, and the pick-up truck driver, Ravindra, has been detained and is being questioned.
A case has also been registered against the pick-up truck driver, the police said.
