
Dehradun, March 19 – Higher areas of Uttarakhand received fresh snowfall on Thursday, while the lower hills and plains experienced intermittent rain, officials said.
According to the meteorological department, snowfall was reported at the Himalayan shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath.
Heavy snowfall has been reported in Nanda Devi, Valley of Flowers, Trishul, and other high-altitude areas since early morning.
Cloudy weather and light drizzle prevailed in several lower regions. High-altitude areas of the Uttarkashi district, including Harshil, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, also experienced snowfall.
Rain in various locations across the district led to a drop in temperature. Light snowfall was also reported from the higher peaks of Munsiyari in the Pithoragarh district.
The state capital, Dehradun, experienced intermittent light rain, leading to a return of cold weather conditions.
