February 20, New Delhi – India has formally joined Pax Silica, a United States-led initiative on artificial intelligence and supply chain security, during the Global AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi.

The Pax Silica Declaration was signed in the presence of Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology, and Jacob Helberg, US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs.

Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, stated that the country is "not just holding a summit here but building the future," emphasizing that it has a clear direction and goal to achieve global leadership in the semiconductor and electronics industries.

He said that the nation is laying the foundation for the younger generation, and that Indian engineers are currently designing some of the most complex and advanced 2-nanometer chips in India.

The minister added that India is a trusted country because Narendra Modi has conducted foreign policy in a way that has earned global trust and respect, reflecting the gravitas and steadiness of a 5,000-year-old civilization that is now recognized worldwide.
