Upon assuming the role of Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Udhampur–Reasi Range, the DIG conducted a thorough visit to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and Katra to review security arrangements, particularly along the route to the Bhawan.

During the visit, inspections were carried out at CRPF camps, Joint Check Points (JCPs), and security posts established along the route. A detailed assessment of deployment at strategic and key locations was undertaken, with a particular focus on access control, surveillance, and area dominance.

The DIG also visited the Katra and Bhawan Police Stations, the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Katra, and the JCR Bhawan. He reviewed the functioning of surveillance systems, including CCTNS, and assessed the operational readiness of the Katra SOG.

A joint meeting was held with officials from the Central Reserve Police Force, Fire and Emergency Services, medical teams, disaster management authorities, and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board to review coordinated security and response mechanisms.

The security arrangements around the shrine and surrounding areas were thoroughly evaluated to ensure a robust, multi-layered security system. The DIG issued directions to further strengthen inter-agency coordination, enhance vigilance, and maintain a high level of alertness.

He emphasized the importance of providing a safe and convenient pilgrimage experience for devotees visiting the shrine.
