
Muzaffarnagar (UP), April 8 A statue of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was vandalized by unidentified individuals on Wednesday allegedly to create tension in the Vehalna village here, police said on Wednesday.
Following information about the vandalism, police rushed to the scene and began an investigation, Circle Officer Siddharth Mishra said, adding that the damaged statue has been repaired.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the village, and additional police personnel have been deployed as a precautionary measure.
CCTV cameras have also been installed, the officer said, adding that the police are trying to apprehend those involved in the act of damaging the statue.
