
Gurugram, March 30 A heated argument between two women over the removal of stray dogs in Mianwali Colony here escalated into a physical fight, including pulling each other's hair.
A video of the incident went viral on social media, in which the women could be seen fighting in the middle of the street and pulling each other's hair when a team from the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) reached the colony to catch stray dogs following complaints, police said.
After receiving information about the incident, which took place on March 26, a police team reached the spot.
A police officer said that they are investigating the matter. However, he said they have not received any complaint from either side.
According to an MCG employee, local residents had filed a complaint with the MCG alleging a stray dog menace in Mianwali Colony.
The employee said that when the MCG team reached the colony to capture stray dogs, some residents started protesting against the action.
An argument broke out between the complainant and the dog lovers, leading to a physical fight. Some dog lovers even attempted to snatch the keys to MCG vehicles, the MCG employee alleged.
According to the police, the viral video shows the women grabbing each other by hair and beating each other. Two men are also seen fighting with each other.
Another man is seen filming the entire incident and attempting to intimidate the municipal team, the police said.
The police officer said that they got to know about the incident through the video. If the municipal team had faced resistance from the locals, it should have sought police assistance, he said.
Based on the video, an investigation is underway, the officer added.
