Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu), March 4 The upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu are not just another election, as they appear to others, but a "deeply personal and significant" event for actor-politician Vijay, he said on Wednesday.
Addressing a meeting of party officials here, the leader of TVK appealed to the people of Tamil Nadu to give him a chance in the upcoming elections.
"While it may seem like an ordinary election to others, for me and the people who support me, it is a deeply emotional and significant event," Vijay said about the upcoming Assembly polls, likely to be held in April.
The TVK's election symbol, "whistle," should be present in every house and at every polling booth across Tamil Nadu, ensuring a resounding victory for the party, he said, adding that "even the Delhi team cannot defeat the Tamil Nadu team, even in cricket," and highlighting the IPL franchise CSK's "whistle podu" slogan.
He further criticized the ruling DMK, branding it as "theeya sakthi" (evil force), saying even children are saying so.
