Thiruvananthapuram, March 4 Kerala's Minister of General Education, V. Sivankutty, announced on Wednesday the launch of a major initiative to provide specialized training and skill development for children with disabilities at the SIMC (State Institute for the Mentally Challenged) here.

The initiative, named "Auticare Blue Room," has been established at the SIMC, the minister stated in a Facebook post.

He added that, under this initiative, children will be able to experience a 3D world in a safe and controlled environment using virtual reality.

"This training, which integrates vision, hearing, and touch, will significantly boost the confidence of our children and make them self-sufficient," Sivankutty said in his post.

The government's goal is to provide world-class facilities for the children and bring them to the forefront, the minister said, adding that this initiative marks an important milestone in that direction.
