
President Droupadi Murmu is reviewing the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026 in Visakhapatnam today as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Upon arrival, the President received a ceremonial guard of honour from the Eastern Naval Command and was welcomed by senior naval officers. The event began with the national anthem, setting a solemn tone for the grand maritime event.
Onboard the Presidential Yacht, INS Sumedha, President Murmu is inspecting a impressive array of Indian and foreign naval ships anchored off the Visakhapatnam coast. The review includes a parade of warships and submarines, flypasts by naval aircraft, parades of sailing vessels, search-and-rescue demonstrations by helicopters, and combat displays by Marine Commandos.
The IFR aims to enhance maritime security and foster cooperation among friendly nations. The event was attended by Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and other senior government officials. Visakhapatnam is hosting the International Fleet Review for the second time since 2016, reaffirming its status as a major maritime hub and a symbol of international naval unity.
