New Delhi, March 30 Vivek Agnihotri, whose credits include films such as "The Tashkent Files" and "The Kashmir Files", praised Aditya Dhar's latest directorial "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" and also cautioned the filmmaker to be mindful of the environment, which can be very dangerous.
Agnihotri shared a note on his X handle on Monday, also praising the film's cinematography and production design.
The film, released on March 19, is a sequel to Dhar's 2025 directorial "Dhurandhar". Starring Ranveer Singh, the film has earned over ₹1000 crore at the global box office.
"Dhurandhar: The Revenge'. I was in the countryside of California, and finally made a trip to LA just to watch 'Dhurandhar'. Well done. Excellent work, @AdityaDharFilms. I genuinely don't know what to say… anything I add might just add to the already impressive film. I'd rather call you. Everyone has done exceptional work. But I want to specifically acknowledge two less celebrated aspects that elevate this film to something even greater: 1. Vikash Nowlakha's world-class cinematography, and 2. @sainisjohray's exceptional production design," he wrote.
"In cinema, the camera and production design are intrinsically linked. Unless both are in complete harmony, a film cannot reach the level of a masterpiece. In 'Dhurandhar', we witness pure synergy. Both Vikash and Saini Johray have done groundbreaking work… work that will stand as a benchmark for a long time. My heartfelt best to both of you. And a special salute. And Aditya, just a word of advice from experience: You are sharp, and you know your path. Just be mindful of the environment, as it can be as dangerous as it is seductive. And everyone else in #TeamDhurandhar, you rock," he added.
The first "Dhurandhar" ended with the 26/11 attacks, and the second part, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge", shows how Singh's spy Hamza Ali Mazari seeks revenge. It also features R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi, who are reprising their roles.
Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the film was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
