
Tirupati, March 29 Companies based in Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru donated over ₹2 crore to TTD-run trusts on Sunday.
The demand drafts were handed over to the temple official, Sri Ramakrishna, at the Ranganayakula Mandapam in Tirumala.
According to a press release, directors of Devi Fisheries Limited, Indraneel Chitturi and Mahendra Yarlagadda, donated over ₹1 crore to the TTD’s Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust.
Also, Praveen S Nair, Managing Director of Bilva Infra, contributed ₹1 crore to the TTD’s Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) Trust.
Established in November 2001, the Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust provides free medical care to economically disadvantaged patients suffering from life-threatening conditions, including cardiac, renal, neurological, and oncological diseases.
Similarly, the BIRRD Trust provides advanced medical treatment and comprehensive rehabilitation services to persons with physical disabilities.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is the official custodian of the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, regarded as the richest Hindu shrine in the world.
