Gurugram, April 6 A fire broke out in four adjacent furniture warehouses in Sector 89 here on Monday, officials said.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a welding spark was the cause of the fire. No casualties have been reported so far, they said.
"A warehouse was under construction nearby, where work was being done to erect a tin shed. It is believed that this spark caused the fire," police said.
They said that after receiving information around 12.15 pm, seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
A petrol and CNG pump was located right next to the warehouses where the fire broke out. Fearing that the fire could spread to the area, teams shut down the pump, and a fire brigade was deployed there to prevent the fire from spreading further, the officer said.
"All the warehouses were filled with old and new furniture, which is why the fire spread rapidly," police said.
