Water Disconnections in Handwara: Importance of Timely Payments.webp

JAMMU, APRIL 04: Javed Ahmed Rana informed the Legislative Assembly that a temporary, one-day water disconnection in parts of the Handwara division was part of a revenue recovery drive to meet departmental targets.

Responding to a motion by Sheikh Khursheed, he emphasized that timely payment of user charges is vital for uninterrupted supply and is a shared responsibility of the public and authorities.

The Minister noted that the affected areas, including Magam and Neelipora, had poor revenue collection. Supply was restored on March 30, 2026, and has remained normal. He urged consumers with outstanding dues to clear them promptly.
