
A fresh western disturbance is set to affect Jammu and Kashmir from March 6 evening, bringing isolated rain in plains and snowfall in higher reaches.
March 04, Srinagar: Isolated rain and snowfall are expected in parts of Jammu and Kashmir as a fresh western disturbance approaches the region later this week, a meteorologist said.
In a briefing to DD News, Meteorologist Parveen Kumar said weather conditions will remain largely stable through March 6, with no forecast of heavy rainfall across the Union Territory.
He said maximum temperatures are currently above normal and are likely to remain elevated for the next two days.
A western disturbance is expected to impact Jammu and Kashmir from the evening of March 6, leading to a change in weather conditions.
Light to moderate rainfall is likely in isolated areas of the plains and the Kashmir Valley between March 7 and March 9, while higher elevations may receive fresh snowfall, he said.
Authorities have advised residents, particularly in hilly areas, to stay updated with official weather advisories.
