The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms and lightning conditions today in parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Bihar, Sikkim, and Odisha. Similar weather conditions are also likely to prevail today over parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Mahe. The weather agency further predicted heat wave conditions over Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat during the next 2 days. According to the Met Department, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra are expected to experience a hot and humid day today.
