
Chandigarh, April 6 Day temperatures in Haryana and Punjab were below normal on Monday, according to the weather department.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a maximum temperature of 31.9 degrees Celsius, according to the Met office here.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 32.8 degrees Celsius, followed by 33.6 degrees Celsius in Rohtak, 33.4 degrees Celsius in Hisar, 33 degrees Celsius in Bhiwani, 32.5 degrees Celsius in Narnaul, and 31.4 degrees Celsius in Gurugram.
Patiala in Punjab recorded a high of 32.5 degrees Celsius, followed by 31.6 degrees Celsius in Ludhiana, 30.5 degrees Celsius in Faridkot, and 29.3 degrees Celsius in Amritsar.
Hoshiarpur and Mohali recorded maximum temperatures of 30.3 degrees and 31.4 degrees Celsius, respectively, the weather office added.
The maximum temperatures in the two states were up to four notches below normal.
