
Shimla, April 6 Unfavorable weather conditions prevailed in many parts of Himachal, resulting in scattered rainfall. Kasauli recorded the highest rainfall at 31.2 mm, according to the Meteorological Office on Monday.
According to the weather office, Dharampur received 29.8 mm of rain, followed by 29.5 mm in Sarahan, 25.8 mm in Jubbarhatti, 24 mm in Jogindernagar, 20 mm each in Rohru and Solan, 17 mm in Bilaspur, 15.7 mm in Shilaroo, 14.6 mm in Mandi, 10.8 mm in Nagrota Suriyan, and 8 mm in Shimla.
An orange alert for hailstorms, thunderstorms with lightning, and strong winds with speeds of 40 to 60 kmph has been issued for isolated areas in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, and Solan on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Meteorological Department has also issued a similar alert for Chamba and Sirmaur on Wednesday.
It has also issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms with lightning, strong winds with speeds of 40 to 60 kmph in isolated areas in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Solan, and Sirmaur on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Meteorological Department has predicted a period of heavy rainfall in the state from April 6 to 9, with peak activity on April 8.
Hailstorms are also likely in some parts of Himachal Pradesh from April 6 to 8, due to the influence of two active western disturbances in quick succession, it added.
It has also predicted light to moderate rainfall/snowfall in most tourist destinations, including Manali, Shimla, Kufri, Narkanda, Solang Valley, and Sissu, on April 7 and 8.
Maximum temperatures rose by a few degrees, with Una recording the highest temperature at 33.2 degrees Celsius, while Tabo recorded the lowest temperature at 0.9 degrees Celsius.
