Jaipur, March 19 Light to moderate rainfall was recorded in several parts of Rajasthan during the past 24 hours, with Barmer receiving the highest rainfall of 16.6 mm until Thursday morning.

According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation persists over western Rajasthan due to a western disturbance.

The weather system triggered widespread showers across the state.

While Barmer recorded the maximum rainfall, Alwar recorded 11 mm of rain between Thursday morning and evening. Most other areas recorded less than 16 mm of rainfall during this period.

The Met office has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds on Friday in parts of Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions. Weather conditions are expected to remain mainly dry in Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Udaipur divisions.

Dry weather is likely to prevail across the state on March 21. However, light rainfall may occur at isolated places in the Bikaner division and the Shekhawati region on March 22.

The recent rain and storm activity has led to a drop in temperature. Maximum temperatures have dropped by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius, with most places recording day temperatures below 36 degrees Celsius.
