Shimla, March 12 Isolated areas in the higher reaches of the Lahaul and Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh received fresh snowfall, while the lower hills experienced intermittent rain on Thursday morning.
The Shimla Meteorological Station had issued a yellow warning on Wednesday evening for thunderstorms accompanied by hail, lightning, and winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph at isolated locations in the Chamba, Kangra, and Kullu districts on March 12, 14, and 15.
Mandi and Shimla districts are expected to experience similar conditions on March 12 and 15.
According to the meteorological station, light rain or snow is likely at isolated locations in the high hills of Himachal Pradesh on March 13, and light rain or snow is likely at isolated locations in the mid and high hills on March 16 and 17.
Light to moderate rain or snow is expected at a few locations in the mid and high hills, and at isolated places in the low hills and the plains of the state on March 11, 12, and 14, the meteorological station said.
