
Ranchi, March 24 Light to moderate rain is likely in parts of Jharkhand later this week, according to the IMD.
A 'yellow' alert for thunderstorms has also been issued, it said.
The IMD said light rain, accompanied by gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, is likely in 18 districts on March 27.
On March 28, 20 districts, except Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra and Latehar, would be affected, it said.
"Over the next 48 hours, dry weather conditions will prevail across the state. Thereafter, over the next two days, isolated rainfall is likely to occur in most districts," Deputy Director Abhishek Anand of the Ranchi Meteorological Centre said.
"The maximum temperature is likely to increase by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius over the next four days," he said.
In the 24 hours till 8.30 am on Tuesday, Daltonganj in Palamu district recorded the maximum temperature in the state at 33.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Jamshedpur at 33.5 degrees Celsius and Chaibasa at 33.4 degrees Celsius.
The state capital Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 29.9 degrees Celsius.
