Week-Long Campaign to Streamline Haryana Records.webp

Chandigarh, March 27 The Haryana government will launch a week-long campaign to clear out government offices by removing old records and disposing of unusable government office furniture, officials said on Friday.

According to an official communication issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, the campaign, from April 1 to 8, will aim to streamline record management and improve administrative efficiency.

All government offices, including attached and subordinate ones, will implement the campaign, he said.

According to the officials, the move is expected to help declutter government offices, improve workspace efficiency, and strengthen overall administrative functioning.

It will involve identifying outdated records, followed by their proper disposal, they said, adding that the unusable office furniture will also be cleared similarly.

All Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Managing Directors of boards and corporations, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Registrars of universities have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the campaign guidelines.

Officials have been instructed to adhere to the 'Record Management and Record Retention Schedule' and follow the due procedures.

For the smooth implementation of the campaign, detailed guidelines have also been issued, they said.

The government has emphasised that all departments must ensure compliance "in letter and spirit" and bring these instructions to the notice of all concerned officials for effective execution.
