New Delhi, March 25 Both Houses of Parliament will not meet over the weekend as previously decided, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju informed the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

The Parliament had not met last Thursday and Friday due to festivals, and it was decided that the two Houses would meet on March 28 and 29, respectively, on Saturday and Sunday.

Rijiju said that members had suggested in the business advisory committees of the respective Houses that the Parliament should not meet over the weekend.

Therefore, the Parliament will not meet on Thursday due to Ram Navami and on March 31 to observe Mahavir Jayanti.

He also said that the session will continue until April 2, according to the original calendar announced before the session commenced in the last week of January.

He also said that there will be no private business in the second part of Friday, and the government's agenda will be taken up.
