The humanitarian crisis is now staggering, with over one million people displaced, representing roughly a fifth of the population, as Israeli ground operations expand in the south and evacuation orders now cover the historic city of Tyre. With the national death toll since March 2 surpassing 900, the Lebanese state remains caught between a disproportionate Israeli offensive and a Hezbollah military apparatus that continues to engage despite the ongoing bombardment.
In the United Arab Emirates, authorities remain on heightened alert following Iran's latest warnings. The Ministry of Defence says air defence systems are fully operational, with precautionary airspace measures in place to ensure the safety of civilian flights. On March 18, UAE air defenses engaged 13 ballistic missiles and 27 UAVs launched from Iran. Since the onset of Iranian aggression, air defense units have intercepted a total of 327 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,699 UAVs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly rejected any threat to the country's sovereignty, stating that the UAE remains fully prepared to respond to any aggression targeting its territory or critical infrastructure. Key energy installations are under close monitoring as authorities work to maintain stability, even as crude oil prices hover near the one hundred dollar mark amid the ongoing crisis.
