Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, March 27 Authorities in the Hingoli and Parbhani districts on Friday withdrew orders restricting fuel purchases, which had been issued a day earlier, to address long queues at petrol pumps due to speculation and rumors about shortages of petrol, diesel, and gas amid the West Asia crisis.
According to the orders issued in the two districts on Thursday, the fuel purchase limit for two-wheelers was set at Rs 200, while it was Rs 2000 for three and four-wheelers.
"Fuel is available in sufficient quantities. Therefore, the earlier order was revoked today. The limit on fuel purchases has been lifted," an official said.
Meanwhile, Nanded Collector Rahul Kardile held a meeting with fuel pump owners on Friday and asked them to maintain adequate stock.
During the meeting, fuel pump owners said that oil depots (from which oil marketing firms supply fuel to such pumps) must remain open on Sundays.
A release from the district administration said that Kardile instructed the police to provide necessary protection to the pumps to ensure smooth operations.
