
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed concern today over the current situation in West Asia and called for an immediate ceasefire amid the ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme in Jammu, the Chief Minister said that the escalating conflict is a serious matter and emphasized the need for de-escalation through dialogue and restraint. He reiterated that a ceasefire is essential to prevent further loss of life and instability in the region. Omar Abdullah also criticized US President for recent remarks made on social media, stating that the language used did not reflect the dignity and decorum expected from such a high office. He said that statements made by leaders holding important positions should be measured and responsible. The Chief Minister added that he had also advocated for a ceasefire and expressed hope that the situation would soon stabilize with efforts towards peace gaining momentum.
