West Asian Flights Impacted by Iran-US Attacks; Pakistan Leads Cancellation.webp

Karachi, March 1 At least 184 international flights from Pakistan to West Asia have been cancelled since Saturday due to the escalating situation following the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran.

A spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Muscat, Sharjah, Riyadh, and Jeddah from Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Sialkot, Peshawar, and Faisalabad had all been cancelled.

"These flights were part of the schedules of various airlines," Hafeez Khan said.

International flights in West Asia have all been severely disrupted or suspended following the closure of the Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports, which serve as a major hub for connecting flights to Europe, the USA, Canada, South America, etc.

Airline authorities have suspended all air traffic in the region due to the increased missile and drone attacks by Iran on US bases in the region.

The spokesperson said that at least 40 flights were cancelled from Islamabad and another 46 from Lahore.

The Pakistani airspace remains open for domestic flights, he said.

The attack by the US and Israel on Iran disrupted flights across West Asia and beyond, as countries in the region closed their airspace and key airports that connect Europe, Africa, and the West to Asia were directly targeted.
