West Bengal Elections: BJP Seeks Decisive Vote for Change.webp

New Delhi, March 15 The BJP welcomed the announcement of the schedule for the assembly elections in four states and a Union Territory, expressing confidence that people will give their mandate in favor of development, stability, and good governance.

According to the Election Commission (EC), polling will be held on a single day in Assam, Kerala, Puducherry (April 9), and Tamil Nadu (April 23), while West Bengal will have a two-phase polling – on April 23 and April 29.

Welcoming the announcement of the poll schedule, BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh said, "Elections are a grand festival of democracy, an occasion that not only strengthens public participation but also paves new paths for development, public welfare, and good governance."

He said it is an opportunity for the people to exercise their franchise and further empower democracy.

"I am confident that the vigilant citizens of these states will uphold democratic values and deliver a decisive mandate in favor of development, stability, and good governance," added the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader.

BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said that with the announcement of the poll schedule, the "reverse countdown" has begun for the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal.

"Bengal is all set to vote for 'Poriborton (change)'. Bengal is all set to vote for development. Bengal is all set to vote for BJP; Bengal is all set to vote for PM Narendra Modi. This election 2026; People of Bengal are fighting against 'Tolamool' Congress," Bhandari said in a post on X.

BJP election in-charge for Kerala Vinod Tawde asked party workers to reach "every home" with Prime Minister Modi's vision of "Viksit Bharat, Viksit Keralam", and strengthen the movement for development and inclusive governance in the southern state.

"Rise, work hard and stop not till BJP comes to power in Keralam," he said in a post on X.
