Silchar (Assam), March 29 Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Sunday that the BJP-led NDA was expanding its reach across the country, with people voting for its transparent and efficient governance.

He asserted that the party will not only retain power in Assam in the upcoming elections, but will also form the next governments in other states like West Bengal and Kerala.

Addressing a campaign meeting here, Saha said, "Earlier, there were frequent blasts in Guwahati. The situation was similar in several other states, but it has now changed as militancy has been eradicated from around 70 per cent of the Northeast."

Saha said the situation has improved in the Northeast due to the importance Prime Minister Narendra Modi places on the region's development.

Urging people to vote for BJP's Silchar candidate Rajdeep Roy, the Tripura CM said, "Roy was previously the local MP. Now, he is seeking to represent you in the assembly. It is up to you to ensure he wins by a large margin."

Saha said he was recently in Bardhaman in West Bengal to campaign for the party.

"In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress ousted the CPI(M) from power, but it has now become a copy of the Left party. There is no law and order in the state. But the regime is in trouble... People will not allow it to become a 'Bangladesh'," he said.

He expressed confidence that the BJP will also form the government in Kerala.

Saha maintained that people have been accepting the BJP-led NDA because of Modi's governance model.

He said the country's financial health and security have been strengthened under the current central government, and transparency in governance has further boosted people's confidence.

Attacking the Congress, he said, "It is an undisciplined party with an anti-national stance. The security deposit of its candidates will be forfeited in this election."
