Kolkata, March 20 TMC MLA Humayun Kabir, who has been suspended from the party, said that the proposal to build a new Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, at his urging, could significantly influence the political landscape ahead of the 2026 West Bengal state assembly elections. He asserted that the next state government may, for the first time since independence, have a Muslim chief minister or deputy chief minister.
