
Kolkata, March 27 The West Bengal government decided on Friday to keep the accounts branch of the home and hill affairs department open over the weekend to expedite the processing of Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears following a recent Supreme Court judgment, according to an official memorandum.
"In view of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India regarding DA, it has been decided that the office of the accounts branch of the home and hill affairs department will remain open on March 28 (Saturday) and March 29 (Sunday)," the memorandum issued by the general establishment branch stated.
"All officers and employees of the accounts branch have been directed to attend office on those days to ensure timely completion of the pending work," it added.
