
Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah stated that renunciation doesn't mean abandoning everything, but rather finding meaning in life through the chanting of the name of Sri Krishna. He visited the ISKCON temple in Mayapur, Nadia district, West Bengal, on the occasion of the 152nd birth anniversary of Shree Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur.
He said that before going to Mayapur, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and conveyed the Prime Minister's greetings to the followers of Sri Chaitanya. He added that Shree Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur carried forward the message of Sri Chaitanya. He also mentioned Harichand Thakur and Guruchand Thakur of the Matua community while commenting on their contribution to the Bhakti movement.
