
New Delhi, April 10 A woman and her son were injured in an attack with a knife following an incident of road rage in the Janakpuri area of west Delhi, official sources said on Friday.
One of the two accused has been arrested, while the other is still at large, they added.
The incident took place near a junction in Janakpuri around 9 pm on Wednesday when the victims, Pooja Sood and her son, Vishal Sood, were returning home in their car from Vasant Kunj.
"Two men on a scooter came from the wrong side of the road and lost balance after hitting a truck, falling onto the road. When the middle-aged woman and her son stepped out of their vehicle to check on them, the situation quickly escalated," a source said.
He added that the accused became aggressive without any provocation and attacked the victims with a knife.
"The son was targeted in the abdomen, but both sustained injuries on their hands while trying to defend themselves," the source said.
Hearing the commotion, locals gathered at the spot and assisted a patrolling constable in arresting one of the accused, while the other managed to escape.
Further investigation is underway, the sources said.
