Rajouri, March 17: Under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, eight schools in the winter zone of Rajouri district have been equipped with solar panels to ensure a continuous supply of electricity. At the Government Higher Secondary School in Koteranka, a 5 kV solar setup now benefits approximately 530 students, enabling online classes and the smooth functioning of laboratories, even during heavy snowfall.
School In-charge Principal Vaneet Kumar noted that despite nearly three feet of recent snowfall and power outages in the region, the school maintained 24-hour electricity, ensuring that students' studies were not affected.
