
Banda (UP), March 24 A head constable stationed at the police lines in the Lalitpur district, who was accused of harassing a female constable and being involved in corruption, was dismissed from service after the allegations were found to be true, an officer said on Tuesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh said Head Constable Jitendra Yadav was dismissed from the Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday following an inquiry.
He said Yadav was accused of repeatedly harassing a female constable, making threats to her, and allegedly demanding money for processing leave applications.
The allegations were investigated by the additional superintendent of police, Jhansi, and were substantiated during the inquiry, following which departmental action was taken, Singh said, adding that Yadav was removed from service with immediate effect.
