Women Power: Jaipur Station Operates Solely with Female Staff

Women Power: Jaipur Station Operates Solely with Female Staff.webp

March 08, New Delhi - On the occasion of International Women's Day, here is an inspiring story of women's empowerment from Rajasthan. About eight years ago, the North Western Railway dedicated Jaipur's Gandhi Nagar railway station entirely to women.

Since then, this busy station—used by thousands of passengers every day—has been run completely by female staff.

The station is located on the Jaipur–Delhi main railway line. Around 50 trains pass through the station daily, and about 25 trains halt here. Every day, nearly 7,000 to 10,000 passengers travel through the station, including a large number of students and women, as several colleges and coaching institutes are located nearby.

A total of 30 women employees are posted at Jaipur's Gandhi Nagar station. They efficiently perform key roles to ensure the smooth functioning and day-to-day operations of the station.
