
The Pulwama District Administration and the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) marked International Women's Day as "Nari Neer Shakti Divas," highlighting women's role in water governance and promoting women-led enterprises.
March 09, Srinagar: The Pulwama District Administration, in collaboration with the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), celebrated International Women's Day as "Nari Neer Shakti Divas" at the Circuit House in the Pulwama district on Saturday.
The event was organized to acknowledge the contributions of women in society and recognize their role as key stakeholders and leaders in drinking water governance and community development.
Officials, experts, and women entrepreneurs shared their experiences, highlighting women's achievements across various sectors. Resource persons emphasized the importance of women's participation as decision-makers in water governance and underscored the connection between safe drinking water, improved health and nutrition, and women's dignity and empowerment.
On the occasion, a Women Entrepreneurship and Self-Help Group (SHG) fair was also organized under Mission YUVA to promote women-led enterprises and encourage entrepreneurship among women across the district.
The fair provided a platform for Self-Help Groups and women entrepreneurs to showcase locally produced goods, highlighting the growing role of women in strengthening the local economy.
