March 26, New Delhi: The race for FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets has entered its final phase. FIFA announced that the final sales period will run from April 1 to July 19, with tickets being released on a rolling basis, first-come, first-served.
Over 1 million tickets have already been sold, with an estimated 7 million expected across the 16 venues. However, FIFA has faced criticism from European football fans regarding the high ticket prices. FIFA President Gianni Infantino defended the costs, stating that they reflect strong demand.
Under pressure, FIFA introduced a $60 ticket category reserved for official supporter clubs, but many argued that these tickets were nearly sold out before sales opened to the general public.
