New Delhi, March 19 Delhi Lt Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu emphasized practical and sustainable solutions to the foam occurrence in the Yamuna River on Thursday.

Sandhu visited the Kalindi Kunj barrage along with senior officials from concerned departments to assess the situation.

"Visited the Kalindi Kunj Ghat along the Yamuna River, along with senior officials of concerned departments, to take a firsthand assessment of the current situation," Sandhu said in a post on X.

He said that discussions were held on the involvement of local and international experts from leading scientific institutions and organizations to help identify practical and sustainable measures going forward.

This comes a day after Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh also visited the spot for a ground report on the recurring foam issue.

The foam on the Yamuna River in the Kalindi Kunj-Okhala barrage stretch is largely linked to the structural and flow conditions at the barrage, Singh said.
