New Delhi, February 26 There's a "Bridgerton boom" and then a "Bridgerton glow-up," one celebrating the immense popularity of the lavish Regency-era romance, and the other highlighting the characters' transformation as they gain prominence in subsequent seasons. While actress Yerin Ha is enjoying the former, her co-star Luke Thompson is captivated by the latter.
The two stars are central to the fourth season of the Netflix hit "Bridgerton," each season focusing on the romantic life of one of the eight siblings in the aristocratic Bridgerton family. Yerin plays Sophie Baek, the housemaid and the mysterious "Lady in Silver," while Luke portrays Benedict Bridgerton, who is captivated by her.
"My first reaction when I got the role was a lot of jumping, screaming, crying, and hugging my mom," Yerin told
"To be part of a show that has been so successful, I think is a dream come true for an actor because that's what you want – to share a story that resonates with many people," she added.
The Cinderella-inspired story, in which Benedict encounters a masked woman at his mother's masquerade ball and falls for her without realizing who she is, explores the class barriers the two must overcome to be together. The first four episodes of the show premiered in January, while the final four episodes arrived on Thursday.
Did Luke receive any advice for his "glow-up" moment in this season?
"Not really," the actor replied.
"The thing about Benedict is that he's exactly the same. It's not like there's a specific process, like, 'Okay, you're next, you get your glow-up.' It's very story-based," Luke told
