
February 26, New Delhi – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is on a two-day visit to Japan, where he visited the Yamanashi hydrogen facility to explore opportunities to deepen cooperation in advanced green hydrogen technologies, along with transfer and technical support.
On Wednesday, UP CM Yogi Adityanath met Nishimura Yasutoshi, former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. The leaders held meaningful discussions on strengthening Uttar Pradesh–Japan cooperation within the broader framework of India–Japan relations, with a focus on institutional engagement, economic collaboration, and greater people-to-people exchanges.
He highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s rapid economic growth, progressive industrial policies, and commitment to providing a conducive ecosystem for global investors, and emphasised Japan’s important role in the state’s development journey.
Nishimura Yasutoshi appreciated the transformation underway in Uttar Pradesh and expressed his commitment to further advancing UP–Japan ties.
During his visit, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also met Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi to discuss trade, technology, investment, and strategic collaboration. Talks focused on encouraging Japanese companies to invest in Uttar Pradesh and strengthening partnerships, including with Yamanashi Prefecture.
