Tirupati, February 22 – The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) criticized the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday for what it called its vindictive attitude and diversionary tactics in the Tirupati laddoo controversy. The party stated that it would not back down from its position and would continue to expose Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's "lies" and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam's "irregularities."
YSRCP leader and former TTD Chairman, Bhumana Karunakara Reddy, said that appointing a one-man committee into the Tirupati laddoo issue is tantamount to disrespecting the Supreme Court, as the Central Bureau of Investigation's Special Investigation Team (SIT) had submitted a report based on the Supreme Court's directions.
"Any attempts to question or challenge the SIT report, which clearly states that there is no animal fat in the ghee used for making the Tirupati laddoo, is equivalent to questioning and challenging the Supreme Court's dignity and integrity," he added.
The former Tirupati MLA stated that the one-man committee is only to shield themselves from the "false propaganda" spread by Chandrababu Naidu and his friendly media regarding the Tirupati laddoo.
He said that once the SIT report proves them wrong, they are trying to cover up and have appointed the committee as a face-saving exercise.
However, he added that this would not withstand legal scrutiny.
"We will continue to fight against the propaganda and expose the links between Heritage and Indapur and Bhole Baba dairy, which are the root of the entire scam. The adulteration originates from the collusion between these companies and the undue favors they received, along with the irregularities," Karunakara Reddy said.
The YSRCP leader claimed that as the arguments of the TDP-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh are becoming weaker, the TTD is now pursuing a new tactic as part of its diversionary politics.
"We have information that the TTD is trying to file a case and initiate an FIR in the Parakamani theft case, even though the matter is still under investigation. The investigation was conducted by competent people, and a report has been submitted. Now, they are trying to file a fresh FIR with a new complaint, and hand over the case to a corrupt police officer, solely to implicate political opponents," he said.
The YSRCP leader made it clear that they are not intimidated by such false propaganda and will fight it out and expose the nexus and origins of the Tirupati laddoo issue.
