March 13, New Delhi – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Bucharest, Romania, on Thursday to visit a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) F-16 fighter jet training centre and meet with Romanian leaders.
The visit comes amid uncertainty surrounding peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. Zelensky will then travel to Paris on Friday to meet with Emmanuel Macron.
Discussions are expected to focus on increasing sanctions on Russia, including targeting its "shadow fleet" of oil tankers used to circumvent sanctions imposed after the Ukraine crisis.
The Kremlin criticized the planned meeting, saying that efforts to pressure Russia would harm the peace process.
